Details: Are you a highly organised and collaborative professional with strong stakeholder engagement and governance skills? The Next Steps Secretariat is seeking a motivated individual to support key reform initiatives and contribute to meaningful outcomes for the community.
As a Secretariat Officer, you will provide high-quality secretariat support to a range of operational committees, advisory groups and reference groups, ensuring effective governance, accountability and decision-making processes. You will play a key role in supporting the planning, development and implementation of strategic projects and reform activities, while contributing to executive briefings, Cabinet matters and other government business.
Working closely with community organisations, funded service providers, people with lived experience and stakeholders across government, you will build and maintain strong skilled relationships that support consultation, collaboration and engagement activities. Success in this role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage respectfully and effectively with diverse stakeholders in a trauma-informed and culturally sensitive manner.
You will prepare high-quality briefings, correspondence and advice, ensuring information is evidence-based, accurate and delivered within required timeframes.
The role also involves maintaining records in accordance with established policies and procedures and supporting a positive, inclusive and high-performing team culture.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate sound judgement, strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment. Eligibility/ Other Requirements:
- Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required. For further information on Working with Vulnerable People registration refer to - Apply for or renew a WWVP registration - Access Canberra
- Experience and/or a desire to work in a community services environment is essential.
- Current (C class) driver’s licence is essential.
- As this role is likely to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and young people, cultural awareness, the capacity to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people is highly desirable.
