About the role

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Dairy/Freezer Manager to join the Spud Shed team in Butler, WA 6036. This is a crucial role in maintaining the quality, presentation, and profitability of our dairy and freezer departments. As Dairy/Freezer Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring product quality and freshness, managing staff, and delivering exceptional customer service.

This position is integral to our store's success and directly impacts the shopping experience of our customers.

Key responsibilities

- Oversee the daily operations of the dairy and freezer departments, ensuring efficient stock rotation and product placement
- Monitor product quality, freshness dates,



and compliance with food safety standards and regulations
- Manage inventory levels, conduct stock takes, and place orders to minimise waste whilst meeting customer demand
- Lead, train, and supervise department staff, providing guidance on product knowledge, customer service, and operational procedures
- Ensure department shelves are well-stocked, clean, and visually appealing at all times
- Maintain accurate records of sales data, shrinkage, and departmental performance metrics
- Respond promptly to customer enquiries and resolve any issues related to product quality or availability
- Collaborate with other department managers and store management to achieve sales targets and operational goals
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and improved efficiency within the department
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards relevant to food storage and handling

What we're looking for

- Proven experience as a Dairy/Freezer Manager or in a similar supervisory role within retail or grocery retail environments
- Strong knowledge of dairy and frozen food products, including storage requirements and shelf-life management




- Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate a team effectively, with excellent leadership and communication skills
- Competency in inventory management and stock control systems
- Sound understanding of health and safety regulations, particularly those relating to food handling and storage
- Solid attention to detail with the ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across the store
- Proficiency with point-of-sale systems and basic IT skills
- The ability to work flexibly, including early mornings, late evenings, and weekends as required
- A commitment to continuous improvement and contributing to a positive workplace culture
