Primary objective

Support whole-of-government data reform activities to strengthen the Northern Territory Government’s data sharing and governance arrangements. The role provides research, coordination, stakeholder engagement and administrative support to help deliver safe, lawful and practical data sharing across government, organisations and the public.

The role supports a significant whole-of-government reform program. It works under general direction to assist with policy analysis, consultation, reporting, meetings, workshops and explicit written material. The role engages with NT Government agencies and other stakeholders to support delivery of data reform priorities.

Key duties and responsibilities

- Support reform of whole-of-government data sharing and governance arrangements, including relevant legislation,

policies and frameworks.

- Coordinate reform activities, including planning, meetings,



stakeholder communication, consultation records, reporting and workshops.
- Prepare clear written material, including briefs, correspondence, presentations, meeting papers and plain English guidance.
- Undertake research and analysis to identify issues, options and practical solutions for data policy and governance matters.
- Engage with NT Government agencies, organisations, affected users and other stakeholders to gather insights, track feedback and support consultation and user research activities.
- Maintain effective working relationships and provide reliable administrative and project support to help deliver reform outcomes.

Selection criteria

Essential

- Demonstrated ability to support policy, governance or legislative reform activities, including research, analysis,

coordination and documentation.

- Sound written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear briefs, correspondence, meeting papers and other documents for different audiences.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and support effective consultation.
- Highly organised, with attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and maintain accurate records.
- Demonstrated ability to support consultation and user research activities, including gathering insights from users and stakeholders to inform policy, regulatory or service design.
- Demonstrated work ethic and attitude which emulates DCDD values of commitment to service, innovation, ethical practice, accountability, impartiality, diversity and respect.

Desirable

- Experience supporting digital, data, information management or governance activities.
