About Bynoe CACS
Bynoe Community Advancement Co-operative Society (Bynoe CACS) has been working alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities for more than 50 years, delivering programs that strengthen health, wellbeing and prospect across the Gulf region. We're looking for a passionate Deadly Choices Program Officer to join our team and help deliver one of Queensland's most recognised Indigenous health promotion programs.
About the Role
As a Deadly Choices Program Officer, you'll work directly with schools, community groups and local organisations to encourage healthier lifestyles and support better health outcomes. Every day is different—you could be delivering health education sessions in schools, running community activities, supporting health promotion events or encouraging people to access preventative health services.

What You'll Be Doing
- Deliver engaging health promotion programs in schools and communities.
- Support community events and healthy lifestyle initiatives.
- Encourage participation in Aboriginal Health Checks and preventative health programs.
- Promote healthy eating, physical activity and smoking cessation.
- Build positive relationships with community members and stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate records and assist with program reporting.
About You
You'll be someone who enjoys working with people and is committed to improving community health.
Ideally you'll have
- Experience working in community services, health promotion, youth work or education.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- An understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and communities.
- Great organisational skills and a positive, can-do attitude.
- Willingness to travel throughout the region when required.
Essential Requirements
- Current Queensland Driver Licence.
- Blue Card (or ability to obtain).
- National Police Check.
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
- Experience in community engagement or health promotion is highly regarded.
