About the role
Join Metro North Oral Health Services and become part of a team committed to delivering safe, high-quality oral healthcare to children and young people across the community. Working within the School Dental Service, this role offers the opportunity to support a wide range of dental procedures while helping create a positive experience for patients and their families.
As a Dental Assistant, you will work alongside Dentists, Dental Specialists and Oral Health Practitioners, providing chairside assistance, preparing equipment and treatment rooms, supporting infection control processes and contributing to the smooth day-to-day operation of dental clinics. This is a rewarding role for someone who enjoys working as part of a team and delivering outstanding patient care in a dynamic clinical environment.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Provide a high standard of chairside assistance during a variety of dental procedures, ensuring efficient and effective support for clinicians and patients.
- Prepare instruments, equipment and materials required for treatment, while maintaining a clean, organised and safe clinical environment.
- Support infection prevention and control processes, including cleaning, disinfection, sterilisation and management of reusable medical devices.
- Assist with practice management and administrative functions, including patient management, record keeping and workload coordination.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary oral health team while contributing to patient wellbeing, service quality and continuous improvement activities.
