Role Description The Director of Development is a full-time, hybrid role based in Melbourne, VIC, with the flexibility to work from home part of the week. This role oversees the strategy, planning, and execution of development initiatives, including identifying and cultivating funding opportunities to support Aurum’s projects.
Day-to-day responsibilities include leading fundraising programs, managing budgets and financial forecasts, and developing philanthropic partnerships aligned with the company’s mission. The Director of Development will collaborate with senior leadership, project teams, and external stakeholders to secure resources, report on development outcomes,
and ensure that financial and fundraising activities support sustainable growth.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in fundraising, including Planned Giving and Annual Giving to support long-term development goals.
- Strong background in Philanthropy and Fundraising for property, community, or urban development initiatives.
- Proficiency in Budgeting and financial management to plan, monitor, and optimize development resources.
- Experience building and maintaining relationships with donors, investors, and community stakeholders.
- Proven leadership skills, including team management, strategic planning, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Urban Planning, Development, or a related field; an advanced degree is an advantage.
- Knowledge of property development, urban planning, or real estate markets in Melbourne or similar environments.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, balancing on-site collaboration with independent work from home.
