At Direct Care Assistance, we support individuals with physical disabilities and/or mental health challenges to live independently and achieve their goals. We’re looking for dedicated, compassionate, and proactive Support Workers to join our growing team in Melbourne!
About the Role
As a Disability Support Worker, you will:
- Provide hands-on support with daily living activities, personal care, and community access.
- Assist individuals with mental health needs and behavioral challenges in a respectful and supportive way.
- Encourage independence and help participants achieve personal goals.
- Use de-escalation techniques to support individuals during challenging moments
- Work closely with family members & the DCA team to provide the best care possible.
Who We’re Looking For We’re looking for caring, reliable, and proactive individuals with:
- Experience in disability support, mental health, or aged care (preferred but not required).
- An empathetic, person-centered approach – treat participants like family
- Solid communication & documentation skills (e.g., data recording, forms).
- Familiarity with de-escalation techniques for managing behaviors.
- A background in Support Work,
Nursing, or related fields (preferred).
- A willingness to learn & grow in a rewarding career.
What You’ll Need
- A reliable, insured vehicle (for participant transport)
- Willingness to travel in and around Bayswater
- Comfortable providing personal care & community access for both male and female participants.
- Certificate III or IV in a relevant field

Pay: $34.44 – $36.22 per hour
