We’re starting the search for a very special person to join the Pamper & Play family as a Casual Dog Daycare Aunty or Uncle.
And we’re not simply looking for someone who loves dogs.
We’re looking for someone who understands them.
Someone who notices the little things, a change in body language, a dog who needs some space, play that’s becoming a little too intense, or the quieter dog who simply needs an Aunty or Uncle cuddle.
Ideally, you’ll have previous experience in dog daycare, canine behaviour, dog training or another professional dog care environment.
You’ll need to be comfortable and confident working with multiple dogs at the same time, with a good understanding of canine behaviour, body language and appropriate play.
But experience is only part of what makes a wonderful Pamper & Play Aunty or Uncle.
We’re looking for someone with heart
Someone who
- Genuinely cares about the wellbeing of dogs
- Understands that every dog is an individual
- Is observant, calm and confident around groups of dogs
- Can recognise changes in behaviour and knows when a dog may need support or space
- Is a genuine team player
- Communicates openly and respectfully
- Is reliable, responsible and trustworthy
- Is willing to learn, grow and receive feedback
- Isn’t afraid of hard work because daycare involves plenty of cleaning as well as plenty of dogs!
- Understands the responsibility that comes with being entrusted with someone’s much-loved family member
ABOUT THE ROLE This is a casual position and we’re particularly looking for someone with availability Tuesday to Friday mornings who can join us when additional support is needed.
There may be an prospect for more regular hours in the future.
We’re not interested in rushing to put someone on the roster. We’re interested in finding the right Aunty or Uncle.
