About the role

Working within our commercial laundry and dry-cleaning facility, you will be responsible for cleaning, stain treatment, pressing and finishing a range of garments and fabrics. You will operate commercial dry-cleaning equipment and use cleaning products to ensure all items are processed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

Key responsibilities

- Sort garments and other items according to fabric type, colour and cleaning requirements.
- Inspect items before cleaning to identify stains, damage and any special treatment requirements.
- Treat and remove stains using appropriate cleaning agents, products and techniques.
- Operate commercial dry-cleaning machines and associated equipment to clean garments and other fabrics safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload garments and other items and apply the appropriate cleaning agents and treatments.
- Monitor the cleaning process and adjust equipment where required to ensure items are cleaned correctly.
- Iron, steam and press cleaned garments and fabrics using commercial pressing equipment.
- Check finished items for cleanliness, stains and presentation, and re-treat or re-clean items where required.

fold and package completed items and prepare customer orders for collection or delivery.
- Carry out basic equipment checks, maintain a clean and organised work area, and follow WHS, hygiene and safe chemical-handling procedures.

About you

- At least 1 year of relevant experience in dry cleaning, commercial laundry or a similar environment.
- Practical knowledge of garment care, fabric handling and cleaning processes.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality work.
- Good organisational and time-management skills in a busy work workplace.
- The ability to safely perform physical and repetitive tasks, including standing for extended periods.
- A reliable, punctual and positive approach to work.
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
