Northern Health is seeking applications from a dynamic and suitably experienced ENT Consultant to join our growing ENT service within the Division of Surgery.

Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne's rapidly growing outer north.

Services are provided through our six main campuses: Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals Centres and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg.

About the Role

Our ENT service is growing – and so is the opportunity. As referral volumes and case complexity continue to rise, we are looking for a Consultant who wants more than a caseload: someone who wants to help build a service and a subspecialty practice alongside it.

There is genuine scope for the successful candidate to develop and lead a subspecialty interest in an area such as Head and Neck Surgery, Rhinology or Paediatric ENT,



in addition to a broad general ENT caseload spanning ward service, theatre and outpatient clinics.

You will work alongside a collegiate multidisciplinary team of nursing, allied health and medical colleagues, supervise and mentor junior medical staff and registrars, and have real opportunities to shape teaching, quality improvement and research activity as the unit expands.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Medical registration with the Medical Board of Australia under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- An undergraduate medical qualification as a first degree –
- MBBS, MD, PhD or equivalent
- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in Otolaryngology –
- Head &
- Neck Surgery, or an equivalent specialist qualification
- Demonstrated commitment to high-quality, patient-centred clinical care
- Demonstrated clinical and leadership skills within your area of expertise




- Well-developed communication skills and a collaborative approach to working within a multidisciplinary team
- A genuine interest in teaching, supervision and the development of junior colleagues
