About Us
Highton Child Care & Development Centre (HCCDC) is a small, high-quality early childhood service committed to providing every child with a caring, safe, secure and nurturing environment in which they can grow, learn and shine. Proudly family-owned and operated, HCCDC is celebrating 30 years of caring for children in 2026.
We are open from 7:00am–6:00pm, Monday to Friday, providing long day care from 16 weeks of age through to school, including Government-funded Three-Year-Old and Four-Year-Old Kindergarten programs.
The Prospect
Due to increasing enrolments, we are currently seeking Diploma-Qualified Early Childhood Educators to join our dedicated and experienced team. We are looking for passionate, motivated and committed educators who value high-quality early childhood education and care and understand the importance of building meaningful relationships with children, families and the wider centre community.
Opportunities are available across our service, with full-time and part-time arrangements able to be considered for suitable applicants.
We also currently have opportunities available for qualified Early Childhood Teachers (ECTs), including opportunities within our Kindergarten programs and collaborative team-teaching arrangements.

The Role
Depending on your qualifications, experience and position, you will:
- Work in partnership with management, the Educational Leader, teachers and educators to plan, implement and evaluate developmentally appropriate educational programs
- Lead and/or contribute to the delivery of high-quality educational programs aligned with the EYLF, VEYLDF and NQS
- Foster inclusive, culturally responsive and engaging learning environments that reflect children's interests, strengths, abilities and developmental needs
- Build warm, respectful and meaningful relationships with children
- Build and maintain positive, professional and collaborative relationships with families and the wider centre community
- Ensure practice aligns with the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations and HCCDC policies and procedures
- Actively contribute to reflective practice, curriculum development and the ongoing implementation of our Quality Improvement Plan (QIP)
- Support the provision of a safe, healthy, welcoming and inclusive environment for all children
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure children are appropriately supervised, supported and engaged throughout the day
- Where applicable, take on room leadership, teaching or collaborative team-teaching responsibilities

Qualification Requirements
Diploma-Qualified Educators
Applicants must hold:
- A Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care, or an ACECQA-approved equivalent qualification
- Strong knowledge and demonstrated competency in the EYLF/VEYLDF and NQS
Early Childhood Teachers
We are also welcoming applications from ECTs who hold:
- A Bachelor of Early Childhood Education, or other ACECQA-approved Early Childhood Teaching qualification
- Full VIT Registration
- Strong knowledge and demonstrated competency in the EYLF/VEYLDF and NQS
Please note: Provisional VIT Registration will not be considered for our ECT positions.
Mandatory Requirements for All Applicants
All applicants must hold:
- Current Working with Children Check
- Current Police Check
- Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certification (HLTAID012 or equivalent)
- Current Child Protection and Mandatory Reporting training, to the satisfaction of the centre
- Current GECCKO training (Levels 1-4)
- Full Australian working rights
Key Information
- Applicants holding an appropriate visa are welcome to apply, provided they currently hold full Australian working rights
- ECT applicants must hold full VIT Registration; provisional registration cannot be considered at this time
- We are unable to consider applicants currently studying towards an ECT qualification, including Graduate Diploma candidates, for our ECT vacancies
- Remuneration will be determined in accordance with the applicable award/agreement, qualifications and experience
