Your new company An established Federal Government department is seeking an experienced Crisis Communications Adviser to support communications relating to complex, sensitive and rapidly evolving issues.
Your new role
- Develop and implement crisis, emergency and strategic communications plans
- Provide timely and considered communications advice during rapidly evolving situations
- Prepare key messages, media responses, talking points, briefs and communication products
- Support media management and coordinate responses across relevant stakeholders
- Provide frequent updates and reporting to senior executives and ministerial stakeholders
- Monitor emerging issues, media activity and public sentiment
- Work alongside the strategic communications team to ensure messaging is accurate, coordinated and appropriate
- Build effective relationships across operational, technical and executive stakeholder groups
What you'll need to succeed
- A minimum active Baseline security clearance
- Demonstrated experience in crisis, emergency or issues management communications
- Robust strategic communications, media management and public affairs capabilities
- Experience working within government, critical infrastructure, emergency management or another high-profile environment
- Confidence providing advice and written communications to senior executives and ministerial stakeholders
- Highly developed writing, briefing and stakeholder engagement skills
- The ability to remain calm, responsive and solutions-focused under pressure
- Strong judgement when managing sensitive or rapidly changing information
- The ability to work collaboratively within an established communications team
