The Role

We are seeking an organised and highly qualified Elected Member Support Officer to join our Governance team at the Civic Centre in Port Hedland.

In this pivotal role, you'll provide professional, confidential and high-quality administrative and governance support to the Town's Elected Members. Acting as the central point of coordination for enquiries, requests, communications and briefing support, you'll help ensure information flows efficiently and in line with legislative requirements, Council policies and governance frameworks.

Our ideal applicant will possess exceptional organisational skills, sound judgement, political awareness and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. You will be an excellent communicator with a strong customer service focus and a commitment to integrity.

Key Responsibilities Include

- Coordinating and administering Elected Member requests,



enquiries and correspondence.
- Provide administrative support for Council Briefings, Workshops, Ordinary Council Meetings, Special Council Meetings and Committee Meetings.
- Coordinating Council briefings, workshops and meetings, including agendas, action tracking and logistics.
- Maintaining registers, records and audit trails in accordance with legislative requirements.
- Supporting effective communication between Elected Members, the CEO, Administration and key stakeholders.

Work Related Requirements

Preferred Required The preferred applicant will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol assessment to be considered for the role, as well as possess:

- Relevant tertiary qualification in governance, policy, government, business, law or a related discipline, or extensive experience in a similar position.
- National Police Clearance
- Current 'C' class drivers licence
- Rights to work in Australia
