Electronic Engineering Technician

Bainbridge Technologies is seeking an experienced Electronic Engineering Technician to join their team in Hemmant, QLD 4174. In this role, you will perform a range of duties to assist the team with the development of the Baintech range of electronic systems and products. You will be working independently under limited supervision.

Task & responsibilities
- Assembly, wiring, testing, calibration, troubleshooting and repair of DC-DC power board circuitry, batteries and other electronic systems and products.
- Producing drawings of layouts and wiring diagrams for DC-DC power boards and other electronic systems and products.
- Positioning and installing components on circuit boards, ensuring correct placement to minimise heat transference and support optimal thermal performance and in accordance with technical specifications.
- Record and analyse test results and quality control data to identify fault trends and support continuous improvement of board assembly and design.
- Install and wire batteries in accordance with the required configuration.
- Ensuring accurate display of state of charge (SOC) data.
- Correctly identify and connect negative and positive battery terminals, ensuring accurate polarity placement throughout the assembly.
- Performing tests and quality-checks on completed boards and systems, verifying all cable connections are correctly crimped and torqued to specification and evaluating product performance.
- Programme finished products for use.
- Rework or repair previously assembled boards that fail quality control.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on boards or batteries that are sent back with faults or damage.
- Inspecting finished products and assemblies for correct installation and verifying compliance with quality and safety standards and design specifications.
Qualification & experience
- At least 12 months experience working as an Electronic Engineering Technician or a related role is essential.
- A Relevant qualification such as an Associate Degree or Diploma in Electronic Engineering or a related field is desirable but not essential for applicants with sufficient additional experience.
- Demonstrated experience reading and interpreting wiring diagrams, layout diagrams and technical specifications
- Experience using hand and power tools for electrical/electronic assembly, including crimping and torque tools
- Competent in the use of test equipment such as multimeters to verify electrical continuity and functionality
- Understanding of electrical safety practices and procedures
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Demonstrated ability to independently diagnose and rectify electrical/wiring faults
- Ability to work autonomously under limited supervision
- Good written and verbal communication skills, and ability to work effectively within a team
