The EL1 Release Train Engineer (Labour Hire) is responsible for planning and managing delivery of ICT Projects using Scaled Agile methodology.
Key duties and responsibilities
Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
- Facilitate the Scaled Agile ceremonies like PI planning and PI retro etc.
- Work with Product Manager and other Scrum masters to own and manage the Release train Backlog and define ART level roadmap in JIRA(or other team’s backlog tool).
- Define with Delivery Director on ART scope, requirements, and acceptance criteria.
- Responsible for the development of the ART schedules and alignment of the product backlog/reform delivery.
- Responsible for delivery of all technical components of the project solution including system architecture, cyber and security, and other aspects of technology delivery.
- Work collaboratively with PMs to identify risks, issues, escalations, and maintain logs.
- Work closely with other Scrum Masters and mentor/coach them in Agile ways of working, resolving their blockers.
- Support the required release activities.
- Champion Scaled Agile ways of working, rollout of team process improvements.
- Establish a positive teaming environment.
- Be a champion for continuous improvement

Essential criteria
1. Proven experience 8 to 10 years in establishing and managing the delivery of technical ICT system delivery projects, including digital cloud-based solutions, using Scaled Agile Methodology.
2. Solid working knowledge of project management and governance frameworks and methodologies, championing Scaled Agile ways of working.
3. Project Management in Federal or State Government environments.
4. Relevant tertiary qualifications and an industry recognised qualification in project management, such as Diploma of Project Management; or SAFe Agile.
5. Proven commitment to developing staff capability and proactively fostering a positive culture aligned to corporate values.
6. Work closely with other Scrum Master and stakeholders to help prioritise program backlog and being able to facilitate cross squad program level ceremonies.
Desirable criteria
1. Experience in delivering systems based on Salesforce will be highly regarded.
2. Comfortable with new ways of thinking about accessibility and enthusiastic about accessible design & development will be highly regarded.
3. Atlassian tools – JIRA/Confluence expert.
