At The Centre, we believe in empowering individuals and strengthening communities through creative, inclusive and impactful programs and services. As a community-owned not-for-profit organisation with more than 60 years of history, we deliver education, community, sport and volunteer programs that create real opportunities for people across the Hume Region

We are looking for a creative, organised and talented community-minded Engagement & Communications Officer to help showcase our impact, strengthen our profile and engage with learners, partners, volunteers and communities across the region.

About the Role

This role is responsible for enhancing The Centre's profile, reputation and stakeholder engagement through effective communications, marketing, digital content and community engagement activities.

You will coordinate and develop engaging content across a range of platforms while helping ensure our public information is accurate, accessible and compliant.

Key Responsibilities

· Develop content for social media, websites, newsletters and promotional campaigns.

· Manage and maintain The Centre's online presence and digital communications.

· Coordinate social media campaigns and monitor engagement performance.

· Create marketing materials, media releases, promotional resources and publications.

· Support community engagement activities, expos and events.

· Build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, community groups and industry partners.

· Ensure communications and promotional materials align with organisational branding.

· Support compliance reviews of public information, marketing content and promotional materials.

· Track campaign outcomes and identify continuous improvement opportunities.

About You





You are a creative storyteller who enjoys connecting people with meaningful opportunities and community initiatives. You can take ideas and transform them into engaging content that captures attention and inspires action

You will bring

· experience in communications, marketing, public relations or community engagement.

· excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· experience managing social media channels and digital communications.

· strong content creation skills including graphic design, photography, video and promotional materials.

· an eye for branding, design consistency and audience engagement.

· strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.

· confidence working collaboratively across multiple teams and programs.

· a proactive, creative and solutions-focused mindset

Desirable Experience

· Experience within the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector.

· Knowledge of Skills First, VRQA requirements or RTO Standards.

· Experience using CMS platforms, Canva and digital marketing tools.

· Experience working in a funded or regulated environment

Requirements
