You'll work closely with business units across Credit & Collections, Operations, Marketing, and Sales & Distribution, as well as the CEO Office and Non-Executive Directors, acting as the subject matter expert on Enterprise Risk while helping embed a positive risk and compliance culture across the Group. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys getting into the detail of frameworks and processes, engaging confidently with stakeholders at every level, and driving practical improvements that make the risk function more productive and effective.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct and manage activities in line with the Group's Enterprise Risk framework and monitoring program, including AML/CTF (AU), AML/CFT (NZ), risk registers, risk appetite statement, key risk metrics, outsource vendor attestations, business impact analysis, business continuity plans, and crisis management and disaster recovery.
- Maintain and continuously improve the Group's Enterprise Risk framework, registers, policies and processes to ensure they remain fit for purpose and aligned to the Group's risk appetite.
- Proactively engage with internal stakeholders on new and emerging risks and their treatment.
- Draft risk-related articles, papers and reports for staff, the general management team, the Risk & Compliance Committee (Board sub-committee) and shareholders.
- Support and manage internal and external complaints, liaising with internal stakeholders, complainants and AFCA, and conduct root cause analysis to identify common causes and drive policy or process improvements.
- Act as the Group's AML/CTF and AML/CFT Officer and/or Privacy Officer in the absence of the Group Head of Compliance & Enterprise Risk.
- Design, develop and deliver face-to-face Enterprise Risk training across the business.
- Support the Group's broader Compliance framework and monitoring program, contributing to its ongoing efficiency and effectiveness.
About you
- Minimum three years' experience in Compliance & Enterprise Risk within financial services; experience in the mortgage lending sector is highly regarded.
- Knowledge of Compliance & Enterprise Risk activities, Credit & Privacy Law (AU) and AML/CTF Law (AU); familiarity with AML/CFT Law (NZ), ACL & AFSL obligations and AFCA rules and processes is an advantage.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex risk matters into clear, practical guidance.
- Confident communicator and proven stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to engage with and influence a range of stakeholders across the business.
- Ability to prioritise effectively and work to tight deadlines, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
