About the Role
As an Environmental Health Officer, you will play a key role in protecting public health and improving community wellbeing through the delivery of environmental health programs and services. Working across urban and remote communities, you'll undertake a broad range of activities including environmental health regulation, food safety, compliance and enforcement, community engagement, health promotion, inspections and investigations. You'll work closely with communities, industry and government stakeholders to address environmental health risks,
support healthier living environments and contribute to positive public health outcomes.
About You
- You hold a degree or postgraduate qualification in Environmental Health with relevant professional experience, or a related qualification and demonstrated experience with a commitment to progressing recognised Environmental Health qualifications.
- You are passionate about protecting public health and improving community wellbeing.
- You bring strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, the ability to build productive relationships across diverse communities, and a practical approach to problem-solving.
- You are adaptable, enjoy working in dynamic environments, and are comfortable travelling to regional and remote locations as required.
- You thrive both independently and as part of a team and are motivated by the opportunity to make a meaningful difference through environmental health initiatives.
- Eligibility for membership with Environmental Health Australia (EHA) and a current driver's licence are essential.
Experience in Aboriginal environmental health, health promotion, food safety, project design and delivery, emergency management, government investigations, land use development or related public health disciplines will be highly regarded.
