Our approach to grooming is no different. We believe grooming should be a positive, low-stress experience where dogs are handled with patience, respect and an understanding of their individual needs, rather than simply being rushed through a groom.

As we continue to grow our new purpose-built space in North Parramatta, we're looking for an experienced Dog Groomer to take ownership of our grooming space.

The Role

This is a hands-on role for a groomer who is confident working independently and can take a dog through the entire grooming process from start to finish.

You'll be responsible for delivering high-quality grooms while creating a calm, positive experience for every dog in your care.

You'll also have the opportunity to take ownership of the grooming space, helping shape how grooming operates within The Belly Rub Club.

Your role will include

- Completing full grooms from consultation through to finishing
- Bathing, drying, brushing and deshedding
- Clipping and styling to breed and owner requirements
- Scissoring and finishing work
- Nail trimming, ear cleaning and general hygiene services
- Working confidently with a variety of small breeds and coat types
- Assessing each dog's individual grooming needs and comfort levels
- Handling dogs using calm, respectful and low-stress techniques
- Communicating with owners about grooming requirements and ongoing coat care
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and organisation
- Managing the grooming area, equipment and daily workflow
- Keeping the grooming space clean, stocked and professional
- Working collaboratively with the wider TBRC team while being confident working independently





Our Philosophy We're not interested in grooming dogs as quickly as possible just to get them out the door.

At The Belly Rub Club, the dog's experience matters just as much as the finished groom.

We're passionate about fear-free, force-free and welfare-focused care. We want our grooming offering to reflect the same standards as our daycare, with thoughtful handling, appropriate breaks, attention to body language and an understanding that every dog is different.

We're particularly interested in groomers who genuinely enjoy working with small dogs and puppies and understand that small doesn't always mean easy!

About You

We're looking for someone who:

- Has professional dog grooming experience
- Is confident completing full grooms independently
- Has strong clipping and scissoring skills
- Can confidently manage a groom from start to finish
- Has excellent dog handling skills and understands canine body language
- Takes pride in the quality of their work
- Is calm, patient and genuinely dog-focused
- Is reliable, organised and able to manage their own workflow
- Takes ownership and initiative rather than needing to be constantly directed
- Is comfortable communicating professionally with clients
- Shares our commitment to fear-free and welfare-focused care
- Is passionate about creating a positive grooming experience, not just a great haircut

Experience working specifically with small breeds is highly regarded. Most importantly, we're looking for someone who wants to build something with us, not simply clock in, groom a dog and leave.





Take Ownership of the Grooming Space
