Experienced Veterinary Nurse - Part-Time

At Animal Aid, our veterinary clinic supports both private clients and animals in our welfare care. We are looking for an experienced Veterinary Nurse to join our Coldstream team on a part time basis and bring strong surgical nursing skills, confidence and reliability to our busy clinic environment.

About the role

This is a hands-on clinical nursing role for an experienced nurse who is confident in surgery, anaesthesia and patient care. Working alongside our veterinarians and nursing team, you will support surgical procedures, monitor anaesthesia and recovery, provide high-quality nursing care and contribute to the smooth day-to-day running of the clinic. · Assist with surgical and diagnostic procedures.

· Prepare patients, instruments and surgical areas.

· Monitor anaesthesia, patient recovery and hospitalised patients.

· Administer prescribed medications and treatments within scope of practice.

· Support diagnostic testing, radiography and clinical procedures.

· Maintain accurate patient records and high standards of infection control.

· Provide professional and compassionate communication with clients.

· Support and mentor less experienced nurses, students and volunteers where appropriate.

About You

We are looking for someone who is experienced, clinically confident and comfortable stepping into a busy veterinary environment. You will be reliable, adaptable and able to work collaboratively and respectfully with the wider clinic team.



· Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent recognised qualification.

· Minimum three years veterinary nursing experience, including at least two to three years of hands-on surgical nursing experience.

· Confident assisting with surgery, anaesthesia, patient monitoring and recovery.

· Strong clinical nursing and animal handling skills.

· Reliable, punctual and adaptable.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

· Able to remain calm and work effectively under pressure.

· Willing to support, mentor and work collaboratively with other members of the nursing team.

· Strong commitment to animal welfare and high-quality patient care.

Details

· Part-time - 15 hours per week across 2-3 days. · Based at Animal Aid Vet Clinic, Coldstream.

· Animal Care and Veterinary Services Award - Level 4, plus superannuation.

· Start as soon as possible.
