Positions Available

We are currently recruiting for:

- 3 part-time positions in the Lake Macquarie area
- Minimum 24 hours per week for each part-time role.

Shifts available are primarily evenings, weekends, and sleepovers.

I'm looking for the right people to join my team

I'm a woman in my 30s and I'll be involved in the recruitment process because who works in my home matters to me. I'm looking for people I can get along with, have a laugh with and trust. People who will take the time to get to know me and support me in a way that feels right for me.

A little about me

Music and creativity are a big part of my life. I am a songwriter and love working on new music and creative projects. I also enjoy going to the gym, getting out and about and spending time with people who are important to me. My dogs are a big part of my life, and my home too, so you'll definitely need to be comfortable around dogs. I love a laugh and tend to connect best with people who are warm, relaxed and can bring a bit of humour into the day.

I'm capable, confident and pretty clear about what works for me. I value my independence and being able to make choices about my own life.

I want my support to help me live my life. Not limit it.

The kind of person I connect with

I tend to connect best with people who are kind, patient, reliable and trustworthy, and who are easy to talk to. A good sense of humour definitely helps. I like people who can have a laugh with me and don't take themselves too seriously. It can take me a little time to get to know someone, so I appreciate people who are patient and let that relationship build naturally. I value people who listen, communicate clearly and take the time to understand my routines and preferences.

I like support workers who can step in confidently when needed,



but also know when to step back and let me do things for myself. I'm an adult and I expect to be treated like one. Speak to me normally, include me in decisions and respect my privacy, choices and dignity.

How you'll support me

You'll be supporting me in my own home and community, getting to know the routines, preferences and things that are important to me. Depending on your shifts, this may include supporting everyday routines at home, including personal care, going to the gym, getting out into the community, maintaining my interests and relationships, and supporting me to make my own decisions and live as independently as possible.

You'll be part of a consistent team supporting me. Consistency matters to me, so getting to know and respect my routines, preferences and the way I like to be supported will be an important part of the role.

There are specific support, health and routine requirements associated with the role. These will be discussed with shortlisted applicants so you can properly understand the role before progressing.

I'll be involved in choosing my team

This recruitment process is a little different. I'll be involved in choosing the people who join my team. If you're shortlisted, you'll have the opportunity to meet me as part of the recruitment process.

Your skills and experience are important, but so is whether we communicate well, whether I feel comfortable with you and whether the fit feels right for both of us.

It's my home, my life and my support team.

What you'll need to apply with us

- Comprehensively Insured Car
- Disability support experience
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Availability that aligns with the needs of the role and team including weekends, evenings and sleepovers
- A genuine commitment to choice, control and independence
