Field Service Diesel Mechanic / Technician – Marine & Power Generation

$50–$60 per hour, depending on experience | Company vehicle & fuel card | Permanent full-time | Brisbane-based Are you a strong diesel mechanic looking for more variety than maintaining the same fleet or equipment every day?

Falcon Diesel is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic / Field Service Technician to join our Brisbane team, based from our Hemmant workshop.

This role offers exposure across commercial marine, power generation, civil, industrial and mining applications, with work ranging from diagnostics and servicing through to major engine repairs, commissioning and breakdown support.

Marine or power-generation experience is highly regarded, but not essential. If you have strong diesel fundamentals and diagnostic capability, we can support you in developing the specialist knowledge required.

The Role

Your work will include:
- Diesel engine servicing, diagnostics and repairs




- Engine midlife repairs and major overhauls
- Component repairs and rebuilds
- Modern diesel fuel-system diagnostics
- 12-volt and 24-volt electrical fault-finding
- Marine gearbox, driveline and control-system work
- Generator servicing, repairs and diagnostics
- Heavy-equipment maintenance
- Electronic diagnostic software and OEM tooling
- Equipment commissioning and testing
- Marine sea trials and commissioning support
- Field-service breakdowns and technical support
- Local field service throughout Brisbane and South East Queensland
- Occasional remote and away work

The role provides a good balance between workshop-based technical work and independent field service.

What We're Looking For

You may currently be working in heavy transport, civil, mining, power generation, marine or OEM field service. What matters most to us is your technical ability, approach to fault-finding and standard of workmanship.

Ideally, you will have:

- Trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, Diesel Fitter or Marine Technician
- Strong diesel engine servicing and repair experience
- Valuable diagnostic and fault-finding capability
- Sound knowledge of modern diesel fuel systems




- Competence with 12-volt and 24-volt electrical systems
- Ability to use electronic diagnostic software and tooling
- High attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- Ability to work independently and manage field-service tasks
- Professional communication and customer-service skills
- Current Australian driver's licence
- Australian working rights

Experience in marine, power generation, OEM service, hydraulics, commissioning or field service will be highly regarded. You do not need experience across every area of our business.
