Conplant Pty Ltd is the largest privately owned specialist compaction and construction equipment company in Australia. Our core business includes the hire and sale of compaction and construction equipment with associated servicing and the supply of parts and transport services nationally.

We are currently seeking a Field Service Technician to join our team in Wingfield, Adelaide. Reporting to the Branch Manager, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day operation of the business, ensuring that we continue to meet and exceed customer expectation.

The role

- Undertake fault diagnosis and repair (mechanical, electrical, air conditioning and hydraulics) in a time sensitive customer facing, operational environment on customer sites and in Conplant’s workshop.
- Provide a range of technical advice to customers (face to face and by telephone) to assist in the effective minimisation of unscheduled call outs and where necessary co-ordinate planned and ad hoc external resource allocation to minimise downtime, maintain operational capability and contribute to the maintenance of Conplant’s hire revenue stream.
- Assist in ‘on the job training’ of apprentices, ensuring all assigned tasks set out by Conplant and TAFE requirements are supervised and completed safely and appropriately.

You will bring:
- Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology and ideally a Certificate II in Automotive Air Conditioning Technology.




- At least 5 years’ experience working on heavy construction equipment, with ideally at least three years’ experience in a Field Service role.
- Current driving licence and ideally a Medium Rigid licence is required.
- General Construction Induction Card (White Card).
- Ability to prioritise and manage time effectively whilst managing multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Computer literacy is required for use of Microsoft Office and in-house software systems.

The postholder will be required to work away from home on occasions with potential for overnight stays as/when required. The role involves frequent travel to customer sites and a Field Service vehicle is provided. A full pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol testing forms part of our selection procedures. Conplant also requires ongoing drug and alcohol testing as part of its ongoing standard safety procedures.
