IronMerge People are currently recruiting experienced FIFO Kitchenhands / Kitchen Utilities for casual pool opportunities across multiple WA mine site villages. These are KITCHEN-ONLY roles.
Successful applicants will be working within village kitchens performing kitchenhand and dining duties. These positions do not rotate through housekeeping, mine site cleaning, grounds or other utility departments.
If you are not interested in working primarily as a Kitchenhand in a busy FIFO village kitchen, this role will not be suitable for you.
These positions are casual FIFO from Perth Airport only, with 2:1 swings and ad hoc leave cover available across various WA sites. Successful applicants can commence ASAP once onboarding and mobilisation requirements are completed.
Key Responsibilities As a FIFO Kitchenhand / Kitchen Utility, your duties will include:
- Pot wash and dishwashing
- Cleaning kitchen equipment, work areas and floors
- Food handling and basic food preparation
- Assisting chefs and kitchen staff as required
- Dining room set-up, service and cleaning
- Maintaining high food safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards
- Working in busy commercial village kitchens servicing large numbers of residents
Essential Criteria – Please Read Before Applying To be considered, you must meet the following requirements:
- Minimum 6 months' recent FIFO or DIDO experience in Australia
- Previous experience working in FIFO kitchens, commercial kitchens or high-volume catering environments
- Current unrestricted WA C Class Manual Driver's Licence or higher
- Your licence must allow you to legally drive a manual vehicle in Western Australia
- Automatic-only, P Plate, L Plate, interstate and international driver's licences will NOT be considered
- Currently based in Perth and available to fly from Perth Airport
- Adaptable to work day and night shift
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screen, plus ongoing testing where required
- Full Australian working rights with at least 6 months' validity remaining on your visa
- Current National Police Check within 6 months, or willing to obtain one
Important – Kitchen Roles Only These vacancies are specifically for FIFO Kitchenhands / Kitchen Utilities. You should expect the majority of your swing to involve pot wash, dishwashing, kitchen cleaning, food handling, food preparation assistance and dining room duties. There is no option to transfer into housekeeping, mine site cleaning, grounds or other utility departments as part of these roles.
