Your new role

As an APS6 Finance Business Partner, you will provide high-quality financial advice and support program areas to deliver key priorities and outcomes. Working closely with stakeholders and senior leaders, you'll play an important role in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and decision-making.

Key responsibilities include

- Monitoring and advising on budgets, forecasts and financial performance
- Analysing financial data to identify trends, risks and opportunities
- Investigating and resolving complex financial matters to support program delivery
- Preparing briefings, reports, submissions and correspondence for a range of audiences
- Providing strategic financial advice to internal stakeholders and executives
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance financial capability, processes and systems
- Ensuring compliance with financial governance, delegations, legislation and policy requirements
- Building productive relationships across multiple business areas to support organisational objectives

What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:





- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and financial reporting
- Strong understanding of Commonwealth financial and budgeting frameworks
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to interpret complex financial information and provide practical advice
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building capabilities
- Well-developed problem-solving, critical thinking and strategic planning skills
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency across Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
