FVS Fire is seeking an engaging and knowledgeable Fire Safety Trainer to join our growing Western Australian team.
This is a practical, client-facing role focused on helping workplaces prepare for and respond effectively to emergencies. You will deliver fire and emergency-response training, assist clients with emergency planning arrangements, and support the establishment and ongoing development of Emergency Planning Committees and Emergency Control Organisations in accordance with AS 3745–2010 – Planning for emergencies in facilities.
About the role
As a Fire Safety Trainer, you will work across a diverse range of workplaces and industries, delivering professional and engaging training to help clients build confidence and capability in emergency situations.
Your responsibilities will include
- Delivering fire safety, emergency response, evacuation and warden training
- Conducting practical fire extinguisher training and demonstrations
- Assisting clients to establish and maintain Emergency Planning Committees and Emergency Control Organisations
- Supporting the development and review of emergency plans, procedures and related documentation
- Facilitating and evaluating evacuation exercises and other emergency response drills
- Providing clear, practical guidance aligned with AS 3745–2010
- Tailoring training to suit individual workplaces, risks and participant needs
- Maintaining accurate training records, reports and client documentation
- Building positive and skilled relationships with clients
- Managing your schedule and travelling to client sites throughout metropolitan and regional Western Australia
- Working collaboratively with the wider FVS Fire Safety Advisor (QLD) and operational teams
About you
You are a confident communicator who enjoys working with people and can make safety training practical,
engaging and easy to understand.
You will ideally have
- Experience delivering workplace fire safety, emergency response or related training
- Sound knowledge of AS 3745–2010 and workplace emergency planning arrangements
- Experience working with Emergency Planning Committees and Emergency Control Organisations
- Strong presentation, facilitation and communication skills
- The ability to engage effectively with frontline workers, wardens, managers and senior leaders
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Confidence working independently and managing multiple client commitments
- Excellent written skills and attention to detail
- Competency using standard computer systems, including the Microsoft Office suite
- A current Australian driver’s licence
- The ability and willingness to undertake regular metropolitan and regional travel
A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or relevant fire-industry qualifications will be highly regarded.
