Flooring Consultant – Full Training Provided

We’re looking for an exceptional people person to join our team at Choices Flooring Mount Gambier. You don’t need flooring experience. In fact, we’re much more interested in finding the right person — someone who is friendly, confident, organised, enjoys helping people and is keen to learn.

We’ll teach you everything you need to know about flooring.

This isn't about pressure selling

We believe our role is to help customers make the right choice, not simply sell them something. Choosing flooring is a big decision. Our customers rely on us to listen to what they need, understand their home and lifestyle, explain their options and give them the knowledge to make a decision they feel confident about.

We want someone who genuinely enjoys that process.

Someone who can have a great conversation, ask the right questions, listen carefully and build trust with customers.

What you'll be doing

Working from our Mount Gambier showroom, you'll guide customers through their flooring journey from their first conversation through to their final selection.

Your role will include

- Welcoming customers and understanding what they're looking for
- Helping customers choose flooring to suit their home, lifestyle and budget
- Explaining different products and their benefits in an easy-to-understand way
- Assisting with colours, styles, samples and product selections
- Preparing estimates and quotes
- Learning how to measure and calculate flooring requirements
- Following up enquiries and keeping customers informed
- Working with the rest of our team to ensure each project runs smoothly
- Building your knowledge across carpet, timber, hybrid, vinyl and other flooring products

There's a lot to learn, but we don't expect you to know it on day one. We'll provide the training and support you need to become confident and knowledgeable in the flooring industry.

Previous flooring experience is not required. We're looking for someone who:

- Is confident explaining options and helping people make decisions
- Has excellent attention to detail
- Is organised and follows things through
- Is comfortable using computers and learning new systems

- Is reliable and works well within a team
- Is keen to learn and develop new skills

You may currently work in retail, hospitality, customer service, furniture, interiors, automotive, real estate, administration or something completely different. Your industry experience isn't what matters most to us. Your attitude, communication skills and ability to connect with people are.
