Pangula Mannamurna Aboriginal Corporation (PMAC) is a Community Controlled Health Organisation located in Mount Gambier providing a comprehensive primary health care service to the Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities across the Limestone Coast The General Services Manager (GSM) is an Executive Management role. The GSM will provide strong leadership and improve operations across the whole organisation, incorporating corporate and service planning and review, finance management (including finance contract management), human resources management, quality, risk management services and management of Programs. They will deliver clear strategic direction, culture improvement and renewed learning and development strategies for Pangula Mannamurna Aboriginal Corporation (PMAC) staff in addition to providing a change management focus, and managing the development, planning, supervision, overseeing and evaluation of services provided by PMAC which includes Social and Emotional Wellbeing and other Programs.
Responsibilities
- Strategic and operational finance, human resources management at a senior level
- Managing staff in both administration/operational, and Program service delivery
- Risk management systems and procedures
- Knowledge of accounting principles and standards and the associated application of computer-based data processing techniques and systems
- Managing financial resources, developing and managing budgets, grant applications and meeting reporting requirements to funding bodies
- Strategic planning and other business planning frameworks
- Strategic management of organisational change including taking on a lead role in conducting major reviews and implementing change management initiatives
- Working knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity, Discrimination and Harassment, Work Health and Safety, and Employment legislation
- Implementing and managing quality and accreditation processes, including those applicable for a health care organisation
- Meeting all program targets as listed in the Community Connections Program Guidelines
- Ensuring high risk clients are effectively supported through appropriate risk management processes
- Uphold organisation, employee and client confidentiality and maintain a qualified approach in all situations within both the community and the work environment
- Uphold organisation’s commitment to child safety and wellbeing
Desirables
- Experience in developing and delivering programs, projects and activities and ability to demonstrate initiative in providing services
- Effective communication skills and a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people
- Experience using computers and Microsoft office software packages especially Outlook, and Word
- Demonstrated experience in the preparation of reports and work plans
- Well-developed organisation skills, including the ability to work under minimum supervision, and prioritise workloads to meet deadlines
- Strong advocacy, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Demonstrated professional integrity, reliability, flexibility and self-motivation
Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in leadership and/or business management, community services, health or equivalent with relevant on-the-job experience, as deemed by the CEO to be sufficient to undertake the role
- Out of hours work, and inter/intra state travel.
- Current full Drivers Licence.
- Current National Coordinated Criminal History Check and DHS Working with Children Check.
