Blacktown
Work that matters, done with people who care.
Across Blacktown City's parks, streets and reserves, public trees help shape the places people use every day. As a Ground-based Arborist, you maintain street and park trees, support tree planting programs and assist aerial crews to keep our urban canopy safe, healthy and well presented.
This is practical outdoor work where every day looks different. You carry out pruning and tree removals from the ground, operate chippers and stump grinders, install traffic control, inspect trees, maintain equipment and assist with planting and establishing new trees. You also help water, mulch, stake and care for young trees so they thrive long term.
You work in a small team that takes pride in doing the job properly. The work keeps streets, parks and open spaces protected, accessible and well maintained for the community. You share your knowledge with apprentices, support daily work activities and contribute to quality arboriculture outcomes across the city.
We offer stable employment and invest in your development through ongoing training, recognised qualifications and opportunities to build your skills and experience.
