2/1 FIFO Roster | Iron Ore Mining | Days & Nights

Pilbara Resource Group is seeking experienced Heavy Diesel Fitters to join our mining operations on a 2/1 FIFO roster.

This is an excellent opportunity for qualified HD Fitters with strong mechanical, diagnostic and fault-finding skills to join a professional maintenance team supporting a fleet of heavy mobile mining equipment.

About the Role

As an HD Fitter, you will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing, diagnosis and repair of mobile plant and equipment, ensuring machinery remains safe, reliable and available to support continuous mining operations. Working closely with Supervisors, Operators and Maintenance personnel, you will play an important role in preventative maintenance, breakdown response and equipment reliability.

Key Responsibilities

- Carry out planned maintenance, servicing and inspections on mobile mining equipment
- Diagnose mechanical faults and complete repairs efficiently
- Respond to breakdowns and return equipment to service safely and effectively
- Conduct inspections and identify defects, wear and potential reliability issues
- Perform preventative maintenance in line with manufacturer and site requirements
- Complete maintenance records, work orders, inspections and defect reports accurately
- Work collaboratively with Operations and Maintenance teams to minimise equipment downtime
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping and workshop practices
- Follow all site safety, environmental and operational procedures




- Contribute to continuous improvement and equipment reliability initiatives

About You

To be successful, you will have:
- Trade qualification as a Heavy Diesel Fitter, Diesel Mechanic or equivalent
- Demonstrated experience working as an HD Fitter within mining
- Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Experience maintaining heavy mobile mining equipment
- Sound understanding of preventative maintenance practices
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship
- Previous FIFO and open pit mining experience highly regarded

Equipment Experience

Experience across multiple mobile mining equipment fleets will be highly regarded, including heavy earthmoving and ancillary mining equipment.

Requirements

- Relevant Australian-recognised trade qualification
- Current Australian Driver's Licence
- Ability to work a 2/1 FIFO roster
- Ability to pass site medical and drug & alcohol screening
- High Risk Work Licence is desirable
- First Aid Certificate is desirable
- OEM training and manufacturer accreditations are advantageous
