Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Head Chef role based in Agnes Water, QLD.
The Head
Chef will oversee all kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and presentation to align with the group’s standards of quality and guest satisfaction. The role involves leading and training kitchen staff, managing rosters, and ensuring efficient workflows during breakfast, lunch, and dinner services.
The Head
Chef is responsible for maintaining food safety and hygiene standards, controlling stock and food costs, and coordinating with management on seasonal offerings, specials, and catering requirements.
The position also includes collaborating with front-of-house teams to support a seamless guest dining experience and responding to guest feedback in a professional manner.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience as a Head Chef or Senior Chef in a hotel, resort, or high-volume restaurant workplace, preferably within the hospitality or accommodation sector.
- Strong skills in menu development, food preparation, and plating, with a focus on consistency, quality, and cost control.
- Proven leadership abilities, including team supervision, training, performance management, and effective communication across diverse teams.
- Comprehensive knowledge of food safety regulations, HACCP principles, and workplace health and safety practices, with a commitment to maintaining a clean and compliant kitchen.
- Experience with stock management, ordering, supplier coordination, and budgeting to optimize kitchen efficiency and profitability.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and maintain high standards during peak service times.
- Relevant culinary qualifications or trade certificates; additional hospitality or management training is an advantage.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and public holidays, and a customer-focused attitude that supports the “Relaxing in Affordable Luxury” guest experience.
