The Venue A well-established and highly regarded pub venue in the Lake Macquarie area is seeking an experienced Chef to lead its kitchen into an exciting new chapter. This is a venue with genuine pedigree, a loyal local following, a buzzing dining room, and a reputation built over years of doing things properly.

The Role

You'll take full ownership of the kitchen and menu, leading a capable brigade in a high volume, high energy pub environment. This is a hands on leadership role for a chef who takes pride in consistency, cleanliness, and cooking that makes people talk.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead, mentor and develop the kitchen team, setting the standard on the pass and across every shift
- Collaborate with senior management on menu development, seasonal specials and continual food quality improvement
- Manage food cost, wastage, ordering and supplier relationships with commercial rigour
- Maintain the highest standards of food safety, compliance and kitchen presentation
- Drive consistency across a busy, high-volume pub service without compromising on quality
- Foster a positive, professional kitchen culture that retains great staff

What We're Looking For; We're seeking chefs with 5+ years of professional kitchen experience, ideally within busy pub, gastropub or restaurant environments.

- Proven track record as a strong Chef with demonstrated leadership capability
- Own full culinary leadership of the kitchen, from concept to plate
- A genuine passion for modern Australian cooking and quality produce




- Proven ability to build, train, and mentor a high performing kitchen brigade
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train, motivate and get the best out of a team
- Solid understanding of food costing, stock control and kitchen financials
- Current NSW food safety certification (or willingness to obtain)
