About the Role The Health & Safety Officer plays an important role in helping to create safe, healthy and supportive workplaces across Vasey RSL Care.

Working closely with the Health & Safety Advisor, managers, employees and volunteers, you will help deliver a range of health, safety and wellbeing initiatives across our residential aged care, community services and office locations. Your work will include supporting workplace inspections, audits, emergency preparedness activities, safety training and incident management.

You will also support workplace inductions, employee wellbeing initiatives and the administration of Fit for Work, WorkCover and return to work processes.

This is a varied role where no two days are the same. You will spend time building relationships with staff, visiting sites, supporting safety activities and helping ensure our people have the information and resources they need to work safely.

About You

You’re someone who enjoys working with people and wants to make a positive difference to workplace safety and wellbeing.

You will be organised, approachable and proactive, with a strong focus on customer service and teamwork. You'll enjoy building positive relationships with employees, managers and other stakeholders, and be comfortable balancing site-based activities with administrative tasks.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- A Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety,



or a related qualification.
- Experience supporting workplace health, safety and wellbeing initiatives.
- Experience conducting workplace inspections, safety checks, audits or compliance activities.
- Good administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, maintain accurate records and meet deadlines.
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships with employees, managers, contractors and external stakeholders.
- A current driver's licence and the ability to travel between sites as required.
- Satisfactory completion of a National Police Records Check (arranged by Vasey RSL Care).
- Valid working rights, which will be subject to a VEVO check.

Desirable

It would be outstanding if you also have:

- Experience working in aged care, healthcare, community services or a similar sector.
- An understanding of WorkCover and return to work processes.
- Experience delivering workplace training or toolbox talks
- Awareness of aged care legislation, standards and safety-related compliance requirements.
- Experience using incident management, learning or workplace safety systems.
