Permanent Full-Time | Senior Leadership Role | Finance & Business Operations

An excellent chance has become available for an experienced Business Manager to join a well-established educational organisation in Northern NSW.

n

Working closely with the Principal and as a key member of the leadership team, you will provide strategic and operational oversight across the organisation's finance, administration, property, risk and broader business operations.

n

This is a diverse senior role that would suit an experienced Business Manager, Finance Manager or commercially minded finance professional looking to use their skills in an organisation where their contribution can have a genuine and lasting impact.

The Role

n

With a broad remit across the organisation's non-teaching operations, your responsibilities will include:

n

Lead the financial management, budgeting and reporting functions

n

Oversee financial planning, controls and fee administration

n

Provide timely financial and commercial information to support decision-making

n

Manage property, facilities, assets and procurement

n

Oversee projects and ensure appropriate financial and operational governance

n

Manage risk, WHS, compliance and emergency management requirements

n

Lead, support and develop administration and other support staff

n

Provide oversight across HR, IT, communications and other business functions

n

Work closely with the Principal and leadership team on planning and operational priorities

n

Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes and overall business efficiency

n





Ensure appropriate policies, controls and compliance frameworks are maintained

n

About You

n

You will be an experienced business or finance professional who is comfortable operating across both strategic and hands-on operational responsibilities.

n

You'll bring strong commercial judgement together with the interpersonal skills required to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.

n

Ideally, you will have:

n

Experience in a senior business management, finance management or similar leadership position

n

Strong financial management, budgeting and reporting capability

n

Excellent commercial and analytical skills

n

Experience managing multiple operational functions and competing priorities

n

Strong leadership and people-management capability

n

Sound understanding of governance, risk and compliance

n

Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills

n

A high degree of professionalism, integrity and discretion

n

A proactive approach with a focus on continuous improvement

n

Previous experience within education would be advantageous; however, we are equally interested in experienced commercial candidates from outside the education sector who can demonstrate the breadth of skills required for the position.
