About the role
As a House Lead, you'll be a familiar, trusted presence in the home, someone participants know and colleagues can turn to. You'll work alongside your team, provide hands-on support and help staff put good practice into action. Your experience will help build their confidence, navigate challenging situations and create consistency from one shift to the next. You'll stay actively involved in direct service delivery, with time and responsibilities agreed around the needs of the home.
Key responsibilities
- Building a positive team culture where people feel supported, respected and accountable
- Coaching staff through everyday practice, welcoming new team members and helping them develop
- Working alongside participants and staff to deliver safe, personal and meaningful support
- Helping the team turn clinical guidance and behaviour support strategies into consistent daily practice
- Keeping the home running smoothly through clear handovers, well-coordinated rosters and effective communication
- Building strong relationships with families, guardians, clinicians and the wider support network
- Recognising concerns early, supporting the team through incidents and following through on improvements
About you
- SIL Team Leader, House Lead or experienced practitioner ready to take the next step
- SIL experience, a strong clinical or complex-care background, and experience supporting people with mental-health or psychosocial needs
- Nursing, allied health, mental health, disability and community services background relevant to this role
- Experience with high-intensity supports,
behaviours of concern and hands-on 1:1 or 2:1 service delivery
- Current First Aid, CPR and an appropriate driver's licence required
- Working with Children Check where applicable
- NDIS Worker Screening, police and reference checks, qualification verification and Australian working rights required
- Listening well, staying calm, following through and helping colleagues feel confident in their work
- Care about the details of good support, take pride in developing others and want to remain connected to participants' everyday lives
