THE ORGANISATION
Our client is a well-established professional services organisation that has grown significantly through a recent merger, now employing 400+ people across several offices. With a newly appointed Chief People Officer and Chief Operating Officer at the helm, the business is in the middle of a genuine transformation agenda, and this role sits right at the centre of it. It's a rare chance to join a lean, close-knit HR function at a genuinely exciting point in the organisation's evolution.
THE ROLE
Reporting to the Chief People Officer, this is a broad HR Business Partner role covering a 12-month fixed-term contract, with a start ideally in late October 2026 to allow a handover ahead of the current incumbent's departure. You'll manage a small portfolio of stakeholders, providing hands-on HR business partnering while coaching and mentoring junior members of the HR team. The role blends technical HR advice with process improvement, reviewing and refining what already exists rather than building from scratch, and supporting performance and remuneration cycles including the finer detail of promotion decisions.
You'll also contribute to broader projects spanning WGEA reporting, surveys, benefits reviews and analysis, working closely with senior stakeholders to influence outcomes and drive initiatives through to completion.
THE CANDIDATE The successful candidate will bring around 7+ years' HR experience, ideally with some HR Manager-level exposure, gained in a smaller or leaner organisation where broad HR exposure was the norm.
Professional services experience, whether legal, financial services or similar, is highly regarded, along with experience reporting into a senior HR leader, Director or CPO. You'll have a track record of coaching or mentoring other HR professionals, a solid grasp of the employee lifecycle including performance, remuneration and promotion cycles, and some exposure to D&I;, leadership development or performance architecture.
Strong analytical and reporting skills are essential, as is the confidence to make decisions and take initiative while knowing when to sense-check with your manager. Above all, you'll be proactive, hands-on and comfortable moving between strategic conversations and detailed HR work, someone who can influence stakeholders at every level and thrive in a fast-paced, transformation-focused environment.
