About the Role The Yanco BESS is a major 250MW / 1,000MWh battery energy storage project in regional New South Wales. As the Balance of Plant contractor, ACLE is helping deliver critical infrastructure that will enhance grid reliability and support the integration of renewable energy into the national electricity network.

We are seeking an experienced Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Manager to join our Project Delivery team. In this hands-on, site-based role, you will lead the implementation of ACLE's HSE framework across construction, commissioning, handover and demobilisation.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide visible, field-based HSE leadership and promote a proactive safety culture across the project
- Implement and maintain ACLE's Integrated Management System, Construction Health and Safety Plan, and CEMP
- Lead a risk-based program of inspections, audits and critical-control verification, with timely non-conformance close-out
- Provide oversight of high-risk activities (mobile plant, excavation, heights, electrical/HV work, energisation)
- Coordinate incident and emergency response, including investigation and corrective action verification, and maintain emergency arrangements for credible scenarios (e.g. BESS fire/thermal events)
- Assess and monitor subcontractor HSE performance, and implement environmental controls under the CEMP and development consent
- Maintain HSE records and reporting,



and represent the project on HSE matters with the Principal, regulators and emergency services

About You

- Diploma or tertiary qualification in work health and safety, or equivalent, with demonstrated HSE management competence
- Seasoned, site-based HSE Manager experience on major construction/infrastructure or EPC projects, with sound NSW WHS and environmental knowledge
- Demonstrated capability in high-risk construction controls, contractor assurance, incident investigation, emergency preparedness, inspections and audits
- Experience on utility-scale BESS, renewable energy, substation or transmission projects highly regarded
- Strong written reporting, data analysis and systems capability, including confident use of Microsoft Office and electronic HSE management systems
- Construction Industry White Card, current Australian driver's licence and current first aid qualification required
