A pleasant 3 hour drive north of Melbourne, our Cobram Food Processing Facility is located on the banks of the Murray River in the picturesque Goulburn Valley. This setting offers a relaxed lifestyle while providing great facilities for team members and their families. The Cobram site specialises in processing sheep and goats and has the ability to handle over 5,000 head per day, operating five days per week.

Growing to employ over 450 team members, the Cobram facility offers excellent career opportunities across many aspects of meat processing.

This role of the Human Resource Officer is responsible for providing comprehensive human resources and workforce planning support to ensure effective staffing, employee lifecycle management, and people management practices across the business. Working closely with operational leaders and the HR team, the position assists with workforce coordination, recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, HR reporting, and the maintenance of accurate employee records and systems. This role is a fulltime role and is required to start between the hours of 4.30am to 12.30pm and 8.00am to 4.00pm on a rotational basis.

The role contributes to the delivery of strategic and operational workforce outcomes through the provision of timely HR advice, administrative support, workforce analytics, and compliance-focused people processes. The position also plays a key role in supporting workplace investigations, employee wellbeing initiatives, and the consistent application of HR policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.

Key Responsibilities





- Support workforce planning activities by assisting HR with labour coordination and shift staffing requirements to meet operational needs.
- Maintain recruitment pools, workforce planning records, standard manning reports, and attendance monitoring systems.
- Provide administrative support for employee lifecycle processes, including onboarding, medical clearances, return-to-work documentation, and employee separations.
- Assist with the preparation, analysis, and distribution of workforce and HR reports, including turnover, absenteeism, and other people metrics.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and administrative support to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and people management matters.
- Support the performance management process through the provision of advice, documentation, training, and administrative assistance.
- Assist managers with employee relations matters, including workplace investigations, disciplinary processes, grievances, disputes, and complaints, ensuring compliance with legislative and organisational requirements.
- Support the management of matters relating to harassment, discrimination, bullying, misconduct, and poor performance through coordination, documentation, and advice.
- Maintain confidential, accurate,



and compliant employee records and personnel documentation.
- Contribute to the delivery of timely HR reporting, insights, and recommendations to support business and operational objectives.
- Provide general HR administrative support, including recruitment administration, employee correspondence, records management, invoice processing, filing, and maintenance of HR systems and registers.
- Undertake additional HR projects, initiatives, and administrative duties as directed.

About You

- Strong communication, interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to provide HR advice and support to managers and employees.
- Sound organisational, problem-solving and time management skills.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail and confidentiality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR information systems.
- Knowledge of HR practices, employee relations and performance management processes.
- Understanding of employment legislation, industrial relations and workplace policies.
- Knowledge of recruitment and workforce planning.
- Relevant qualification in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline.
- Experience in a Human Resources, Employee Relations or People & Culture support role.
- Experience working in a fast-paced operational or manufacturing environment is desirable.
- Current driver’s licence.
