About the role

About the role

The Human Resources Officer is a member of the broader People & Culture team and provides support to the Senior Human Resources Officer and Director of People & Culture. In addition, the Human Resources Officer delivers high quality support and assistance to employees and managers across GEO Healthcare.

Based at GEO Healthcare's Head Office in Melbourne CBD, this role is responsible for a range of HR and recruitment activities that contribute to effective and efficient People & Culture systems and processes. You will play a key role in supporting workforce growth through the coordination of end to end recruitment activities for a new healthcare location, while also contributing to broader HR initiatives across the organisation.

Key responsibilities include

- Coordinating recruitment and onboarding processes from advertisement through to appointment
- Providing advice and guidance on GEO Healthcare policies and procedures
- Preparing employment contracts and other confidential HR documentation
- Maintaining employee records in accordance with legislative requirements
- Supporting HR projects, initiatives and system improvements
- Assisting managers and employees with day to day HR enquiries

Skills and Experience

Essential

The ideal candidate will have:

- Previous experience managing high volume recruitment activities.
- Previous experience in HR administration or a Human Resources role, with a sound understanding of HR functions and recruitment practices.




- Experience interpreting employment legislation including the Fair Work Act, NES, Modern Awards, Enterprise Agreements and related legislation.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills and the ability to work autonomously and as part of a small team.
- Outstanding organisational and time management skills, with the ability to balance competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- High levels of professionalism, integrity and confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook.

Desirable

- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources Management or a related discipline.
- Membership of the Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI).
- Experience with payroll processes and payroll legislation.
- Previous experience within healthcare or a health related environment.
- Experience using SharePoint, TRIM, KRONOS and Infinium.

Other Requirements of the Role

- Ability to work onsite 5 days per week.
- Ability to travel to various sites across Victoria as required.
- Ability to work within a correctional setting, which may involve indirect contact with prisoners.
- Satisfactory completion of a National Criminal History Check and pre employment Medical.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- Working outside ordinary business hours may occasionally be required.
- Valid and current full Australian Driver's Licence.
