About AV:
Australian Vintage (AV) is an ASX-listed company and the proud owner of the multi-award-winning McGuigan, Tempus Two, Nepenthe, and Barossa Valley Wine Company brands. Leveraging our world-class assets and innovative expertise, we are dedicated to delivering exceptional results.
As a certified B Corporation, Australian Vintage is committed to making a positive impact on both people and the planet through continuous improvement and by using business as a force for good. We have set an ambitious Net Zero 2040 emissions target, are powered by renewable energy, and ensure all our owned and operated vineyards and wineries are certified under Sustainable Wine guidelines.
We support our people to make an impact where they live through paid volunteer days and are proud to be recognised as an accredited Mental Health First Aid workplace by Mental Health First Aid Australia as of January 2023.
About the role:
We’re looking for an Innovation Project Manager to join our team in Mildura for a 14-month parental leave cover. You’ll be at the centre of our wine innovation pipeline, taking current products from the first idea right through to launch.
There are plenty of moving parts — people, suppliers, timelines, costs, approvals and the occasional curveball — and you’ll be the one keeping it all moving. You don’t need to know wine. You do need to know projects. We’re looking for someone who can bring people together, manage stakeholders, solve problems and get things over the line. We’ll teach you the wine bit.
You’ll also work closely with our UK team, connecting with colleagues approximately fortnightly and working across different teams, markets and time zones. Flexibility will be required to accommodate some meetings across the UK and Australian time zones.
What you’ll do:
- Manage wine NPD projects from concept through to launch, keeping projects on track, on brief and commercially sound
- Own project plans, timelines, actions, dependencies and key milestones
- Lead NPD governance, production meetings and gate reviews, ensuring progress and reporting are clear and up to date
- Coordinate stakeholders across Marketing, Sales, Winemaking, Production and Procurement, keeping everyone aligned on priorities and deliverables
- Manage external suppliers and partners, including quotes, sampling, timelines and delivery
- Identify risks and roadblocks early and work with the right people to resolve them
- Support supplier and manufacturing partner onboarding, as well as cost-out and efficiency initiatives
- Coordinate product deletions, maintain the Australian Vintage SKU list and work with our UK team through regular global calls
What you’ll bring:
- Proven project management experience, ideally managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders, workstreams and deadlines
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to work across different teams and levels of seniority
- Highly organised and detail-focused, with the ability to keep sight of the bigger picture
- A practical, solutions-focused approach to problem solving
- Commercial awareness and confidence working with costs, timelines, suppliers and competing priorities
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Experience in wine, FMCG, NPD or consumer products is a bonus, not a requirement. What matters most is having the experience and confidence to run projects independently. This isn’t an entry-level or project coordination role.
What we offer: We're proud to offer a strong benefits package that we know can make a big difference to work life and life outside of work.
- Birthday leave
- Volunteer days
- Flexible working
- Annual product allowance
If you’re a strong project manager who enjoys bringing people together, getting stuck into complex projects and seeing an idea become something real, we’d love to hear from you.
