Primary objective

Lead integrated consumer marketing to position the Northern Territory as Australia’s most distinctive leisure travel destination and a leading destination for major events. The Manager connects marketing centres and teams to deliver audience-led marketing and brand campaigns across paid, earned and owned channels. The role leads strategic campaigns that build awareness and consideration, bring the refreshed Territory brand to life with consumers, inspire visitation and support sustainable growth of the visitor economy.

Key duties and responsibilities





1. Analyse, understand and activate priority audiences across Tourism and Events NT’s events and destination marketing portfolio

to identify growth opportunities, drive visitation and provide clear strategic guidance on how to engage these audiences.
1. Work collaboratively across marketing centres to connect activity, implement brand positioning, value propositions and

targeted messaging aligned to consumer segmentation and marketing objectives.
1. Develop, implement and report on integrated marketing strategies for major events and the Northern Territory as a destination,

ensuring a cohesive approach across owned, earned and paid channels and optimising performance and ROI.
1. Manage and monitor marketing budgets across campaigns in line with organisational objectives, ROI expectations and

measurable performance outcomes.
1. Lead and manage key creative and media agencies to deliver compelling campaign concepts, strategic media schedules and

optimise activity in market.
1. Lead and support a high-performing team across multiple brands, events and destination programs, fostering collaboration,

creative thinking, problem solving, accountability and bringing out the best in people.
1. Build and maintain strong cooperative partnerships with media, industry,



event owners, stakeholders and government at local

and national levels to extend reach and deliver cooperative marketing outcomes.

Selection criteria

Essential

1. Demonstrated experience providing leadership and supervision to support high-performing teams and foster collaboration,

creativity and accountability.
- Experience in a senior marketing role in consumer, event or destination marketing or communications, with responsibility for strategy development, implementation, budget management and performance reporting.
- Demonstrated expertise in integrated marketing across owned, earned and paid channels, with the ability to connect activity across marketing teams and touchpoints.
- Strong strategic, conceptual, creative and analytical skills, including the ability to interpret research, market intelligence and performance data to inform decision-making and solve problems.
- Developed stakeholder engagement, negotiation and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to collaborate and influence across teams and organisations.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex projects and external agencies to deliver high-quality outcomes within agreed timeframes and budgets.

Desirable

1. Tertiary qualifications in marketing, communications, tourism, business or a related discipline.
2. Knowledge of the Northern Territory tourism or major events industry, visitor economy and destination marketing

environment, or the demonstrated ability to rapidly acquire this knowledge.
- Experience working within government or complex stakeholder environments.
