Pathway to Aus is a migration and education agency based on the Gold Coast. We are looking for a sharp, experienced Internal Accountant or Very Experienced Bookkeeper to take the reins of our financial operations. The right applicant will help us bridge between our daily operations and our external tax partners, ensuring our growth is backed by rock-solid data. Also be very capable at ensuring payments by contractors/suppliers are paid on time.

What we are looking for you to do:

- Financial Reporting: Take ownership of the month-end close, P&L; reporting, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- External Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for our external accounting firm, making the end-of-year and tax-time processes seamless and efficient.
- Cash Flow & Debt Chasing: You will maintain the general ledger, perform reconciliations, and actively manage accounts receivable to optimize our cash flow. The ideal candidate brings a sharp analytical mind alongside a tenacious, results-driven approach to resolving overdue balances.
- System Evolution: We are a remote-first team. You’ll be tasked with ensuring our Xero ecosystem is optimized for a scaling business.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor our dedicated Bookkeepers. You will review their work for accuracy, manage their daily priorities, and ensure high standards of data integrity in Xero.

- 100% Remote: Work from anywhere in Australia (or beyond, provided you can align with our time zone). Please note, if you prefer to work from our office on the Gold Coast, you are able to do this.
- True Flexibility: We are looking for a minimum of 20 hours per week, but we would prefer Full time. Whether you’re a parent returning to work or a seasoned professional seeking better balance, we’ll design a schedule that fits.

About You

- The Manager: You have experience supervising or reviewing the work of others. You know how to give constructive feedback and maintain high standards.
- The Professional: You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. (CPA/CA is a plus, but your "in-house" experience is what matters most). A very experienced Bookkeeper may also be considered.
- The Xero Expert: You are deeply familiar with cloud accounting and love the efficiency it brings.
- The Communicator: You can explain the "why" behind the numbers to our Directors and keep a remote team feeling connected and supported.
