Abbott Builders Qld Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced and motivated Labourer to join our growing team in Brisbane. This full-time position plays a key role in supporting our construction and rooming accommodation projects, ensuring sites are maintained to a high standard from commencement through to practical completion.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone reliable, physically fit, and experienced in general construction labouring.
Key Responsibilities
· General site labouring and manual handling duties
· Assisting on active rooming and residential construction projects
· Site preparation, set-out assistance and material organisation
· Assisting with piering and concrete pours
· Ongoing site clean-up to maintain safe and presentable work areas
· Rubbish removal and skip bin management
· Assisting with demolition and strip-outs as required
· Loading and unloading deliveries; checking and distributing materials
· Moving materials between rooms and multiple levels
· Assisting with landscaping works, including:
· Turf preparation and laying
· Garden bed preparation
· Spreading soil, mulch, gravel and decorative finishes
· Basic fencing and external works assistance
· Supporting defect rectification and touch-up works
· Assisting with final presentation and practical completion clean-ups
· Basic operation of hand and power tools
· Maintaining compliance with WHS requirements
· Following directions from the Site Supervisor and Project Manager
· Ensuring properties are presented to a high standard for tenant readiness
What We're Looking For
· Previous experience as a Construction Labourer (essential)
· Experience on residential or rooming projects highly regarded
· Strong physical fitness and ability to perform manual tasks
· Good understanding of construction site safety and WHS compliance
· Reliable, punctual and hardworking
· Ability to work independently and within a team
· Good communication skills
· White Card (required)
· Driver's licence (required)
· Australian work rights required for this position
· Minimum of 1+ years' experience as a construction labourer is required
