About the role

AVMIN is seeking an experienced aviation professional to join our remote airport operations team as a Leading Hand / Aerodrome Reporting Officer (ARO). This is a hands-on role with a strong operational focus. Your primary responsibility will be to lead and participate in aircraft ground handling activities at Moomba Airport from Tuesday to Thursday each week.

The balance of the role will provide ARO/WSO leave and operational coverage across Moomba and Ballera. You will be equally comfortable coordinating an aircraft turnaround on the ramp, working directly with airline crews and passengers, and stepping into formal ARO/WSO duties when required.

Key responsibilities

- Lead and coordinate aircraft ground handling activities at Moomba Tuesday to Thursday
- Undertake hands-on passenger, baggage, ramp and aircraft turnaround duties
- Liaise with airline flight crews, AVMIN personnel, client representatives and other operational stakeholders
- Provide ARO/WSO leave and roster coverage at Moomba and Ballera
- Complete aerodrome inspections, reporting,



operational records and hazard identification
- Assist with NOTAM, wildlife management and works safety requirements where applicable
- Ensure ground handling and aerodrome activities are conducted safely and in accordance with airline, AVMIN and site procedures
- Provide practical on-the-ground leadership and support to other operational personnel

About you

- Current ARO qualification
- Current AROC qualification
- Practical ARO experience
- ARO/WSO experience
- Aircraft ground handling experience
- Solid understanding of ramp and airside safety
- Current Australian driver's licence
- Ability to work independently and safely in remote locations
- Flexibility to work at both Moomba and Ballera as operational requirements dictate
