Join the Department of Defence as a Level 2 Commercial Advisor

Your new company A unique opportunity exists to join the Department of Defence as a Level 2 contractor, supporting complex capability acquisition, sustainment and commercial programs. Working within a high-performing procurement and commercial team, you will provide specialist advice across procurement planning, tendering, contracting and contract management activities that contribute to critical Defence outcomes.

This role offers the opportunity to work on large-scale Defence programs while collaborating with project managers, commercial specialists, legal teams and industry partners in a fast-paced and rewarding environment

Your new role

As a Commercial Advisor, you will provide specialist commercial and contracting support across the full procurement lifecycle, working closely with project teams and key stakeholders to deliver compliant and value-for-money outcomes.

Your responsibilities will include developing and reviewing procurement and contract documentation, supporting tender evaluations, negotiations and contract establishment activities, and providing commercial and contract management advice across complex projects. You will draft and manage contractual documentation using the ASDEFCON suite, identify and mitigate commercial and contractual risks,



and ensure compliance with Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs), PGPA requirements and Defence procurement policies. The role will also involve supporting contract variations and extensions, monitoring supplier performance, and preparing commercial briefings, approvals and governance documentation to support informed decision-making.

What you'll need to succeed

- Demonstrated experience in procurement, commercial advisory and contract management

- Strong working knowledge of the ASDEFCON Contracting Suite

- Experience supporting Defence acquisition, sustainment or capability delivery programs

- Hold a valid NV1 Security Clearance

Based in Canberra, you will work onsite five days per week within a team-oriented commercial team, supporting nationally significant Defence programs and complex procurement and contracting activities.
