About the role: The Library Programs and Services Officer plays an key role in developing and delivering programs, events and outreach initiatives that respond to the needs of our community.
Working closely with the Library team, volunteers, community organisations and other stakeholders, you will help deliver engaging library services both within the Library and out in the community. You will also coordinate the Home Library Service and support the volunteers who help deliver this important service.
In this role, you will:
- Develop, promote and deliver engaging library programs, events and outreach activities.
- Coordinate the Home Library Service and support its volunteers.
- Build relationships and work collaboratively with community organisations, businesses and other service providers.
- Deliver programs that encourage lifelong learning, wellbeing, creativity and social connection.
- Promote library programs and services through social media, online platforms and promotional materials.
- Provide friendly and inclusive customer service, information and technology support.
- Assist customers to access library technologies, digital resources and services.
- Support the preparation and promotion of library activities, exhibitions and events.
- Contribute ideas and improvements that help the Library continue to respond to the needs of the community.
About you: You are approachable, organised and community focused,
with the confidence to engage with people from a wide range of backgrounds. You enjoy turning ideas into engaging activities and are comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong organisation and time management skills, with the ability to balance competing priorities.
- Confidence using technology and the ability to assist others with digital systems and resources.
- An interest in developing and delivering engaging community programs and activities.
- The ability to build positive relationships with community members, volunteers and stakeholders.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office, social media and graphic design platforms such as Canva.
- Initiative, sound judgement and a willingness to learn, share knowledge and embrace new ways of working.
- An appreciation of the important role libraries play in literacy, lifelong learning and community connection.
- A current non-prohibited South Australian Working with Children Check.
This position forms part of the Library's roster rotation and requires flexibility to work rostered late nights and weekends. If you're passionate about connecting people with programs, services and opportunities to learn, create and belong,
