RRC Australia’s client is seeking an experienced Linehaul Coordinator to take ownership of the day-to-day coordination of a busy transport operation.
This position is suited to someone who enjoys being at the centre of operations — keeping drivers on track, maintaining high safety standards, dealing with customer requirements and making sure issues are addressed before they impact the operation.
You’ll play an important role in coordinating drivers and subcontractors while ensuring the operation remains compliant, productive and customer-focused.
The Opportunity In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination of transport activities, with a strong focus on driver management, safety, compliance and service delivery.
Your responsibilities will include (but not limited to):
- Overseeing daily transport activities and coordinating driver requirements.
- Allocating work and resources to achieve operational and customer requirements.
- Supporting and managing a team of company and subcontractor drivers.
- Reviewing driver documentation, hours, breaks and run information for accuracy.
- Monitoring driver compliance with fatigue management, safety and Chain of Responsibility requirements.
- Coordinating vehicle inspections, servicing, repairs and fault reporting.
- Working directly with customers to address operational matters and maintain service standards.
- Identifying and resolving issues that arise throughout the day.
- Conducting toolbox talks and supporting ongoing safety initiatives.
- Monitoring driver performance, attendance and compliance.
- Ensuring required operational,
HR and compliance documentation is completed accurately and on time.
- Assisting with improving operational efficiency and controlling unnecessary costs.
- Providing support to the wider operations team when required, including occasional after-hours assistance.
About You We’re looking for a confident transport professional who can take ownership of an operation and lead from the front.
You will ideally have
- Previous experience in a transport, logistics or fleet coordination environment.
- Experience supervising or leading drivers, contractors or operational teams.
- A sound understanding of heavy vehicle compliance, WHS and Chain of Responsibility.
- Robust organisational and administrative skills.
- The ability to interpret driver documentation and identify discrepancies.
- Excellent communication skills and the confidence to deal with drivers, customers and management.
- A practical approach to problem solving and decision making.
- The ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a wider team.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accountability.
- The ability to remain composed and effective in a fast-moving environment.
- An HC Licence and heavy vehicle experience would be highly regarded.
