About
Costerfield Operations, owned and operated by Alkane Resources Ltd, is situated in Central Victoria, east of Bendigo and surrounded by numerous towns within a 50km radius, offering a variety of residential options.
Our current operation runs an underground mine and processing plant that is responsible for producing gold and antimony. The mine's workforce consists of over 250 permanent employees who hold various roles in professional, technical, mining, processing, and trades.

About The Role
Reporting to the Maintenance Leading Hand, we are seeking a qualified Motor Mechanic to join our mining operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality maintenance and repair services across our fleet, ensuring vehicles and equipment are safe, reliable, and operating at peak performance.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
- Fault finding
- Component rebuilding
- Reading schematics and manual
- Fire Suppression (desirable, not essential)
- Welding (desirable,
not essential)
- Experience working in underground operations (desirable, not essential);
- Experience working with air conditioning (desirable, not essential);
About You We are seeking a motivated and safety-focused Motor Mechanic who takes pride in delivering quality workmanship and thrives in a hands-on mining environment. You will be a reliable team player with strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills, capable of working independently while contributing positively to the maintenance team.
The successful candidate will possess:
· Trade qualification as a Motor Mechanic (Certificate III or equivalent)
· Experience maintaining and repairing light vehicles and mobile equipment
· Robust fault-finding and diagnostic capabilities
· A commitment to workplace safety and compliance
· Excellent time management and organisational skills
· The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
· A proactive attitude and strong work ethic
· A current and valid driver's licence
