The Role
n
Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role plays a key part in delivering accurate and timely financial processing, reporting, and payroll processing across JFD Australia. Working closely with finance and operational teams, you will provide high-quality financial data and insights that support business performance, while ensuring the smooth delivery of day-to-day transactional finance activities across multiple sites. We are looking for an experienced accounts officer skilled with payroll experience, strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem solving. The successful candidate will be adaptable, organised, and comfortable working in a dynamic setting where priorities can change and flexibility is key. This role is ideal for someone looking for an opportunity to step-up into the next level of their career.

What you'll be doing
n
n
- Deliver accurate financial reporting and data in line with Group reporting deadlines.
n
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing for JFD Australia and shared service entities, ensuring compliance with Awards, EBAs, superannuation, payroll tax, and statutory reporting requirements.
n
- Process and reconcile financial transactions across payroll, accounts payable, banking, and general ledger activities, ensuring accurate ERP system records.
n
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, month-end journals, bank reconciliations, and follow up actions to support timely month end close.
n
- Process and reconcile freight, customs, insurance-related, and other supplier invoices as required.
n
- Support month end, half-year and year-end reporting processes,
including internal and external audit requirements.
n
- Ensure compliance with Group finance policies, internal controls, procedures, and reporting standards.
n

What we're looking for
n
n
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
n
- Proven experience in a finance or accounting role with responsibility for payroll processing.
n
- Strong proficiency in ERP/financial systems and intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
n
- Good understanding of Australian payroll legislation, Awards, EBAs, Fair Work requirements, and employment contracts.
n
- Experience working with payroll systems and managing payroll data, reconciliations, and compliance reporting.
n
- Proactive problem solver with the ability to manage priorities and deliver accurate results to deadlines.
n
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to accuracy.
n
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
n
- Experience with Micropay or similar payroll systems is advantageous.
