Signage Production and Pre-press Manager

The Production Manager takes full ownership of daily print and signage operations, taking projects from initial client contact and quotation through to pre-press, fabrication, and final delivery. This leadership role balances hands‐on technical expertise—specifically in pre‐press setups, digital printing, and vehicle applications with overall workflow scheduling, team supervision, and commercial growth.

Key responsibilities

n

Oversee end‐to‐end production scheduling and workflow management across all departments.

n

Input, track, and manage job data using ServiceM8.

n

Handle pricing, job quoting, tendering, and customer reception as required.

n

Coordinate logistics, including booking and documenting freight.

n

Purchase fixings, incidentals, and necessary production supplies.

n

Identify skill gaps, supervise floor production, and assist leadership with decisions regarding future hires.

n

Help manage the design process and work alongside the production team to ensure files are technically sound for print and manufacturing.

n

Prepare production‐ready files with accurate bleeds, cut lines, crop marks,



and colour profiles for digital printing, vinyl graphics, vehicle wraps, and signage.

n

Conduct thorough pre‐press checks on all files, maintaining organized file structures.

n

Liaise directly with clients via email, phone, or in person to create initial concepts that meet their needs and budget, guiding jobs through to final sign‐off.

About you

n

Extensive experience and knowledge within the signage industry (10+ years) with a background in digital printing, pre‐press setups, vehicle applications, and general sign fabrication.

n

Proven experience in job scheduling, production management, and team leadership.

n

Proficiency with print workflow software, file preparation, and operational tools (experience with ServiceM8 is a strong advantage).

n

Strong communication skills for client management, quoting, and team supervision.

n

Work autonomously with limited or no supervision, maintaining full accountability for team workflow and project turnarounds.

n

Enforce workplace health and safety (OH&S;) standards, secure working practices, and general workshop upkeep.
